This project will make improvements to large sections of bus lanes along the A647 corridor, as well as a number of bus priority measures at traffic signals. There will also be junction improvements made at Ledgard Way and Town End roundabout, as well as dedicated walking facilities and improvements to green infrastructure.The project is funded though the Leeds Public Transport Investment Programme and started in late 2020. The works will reduce and increase the reliability of bus journey times as well as providing improved pedestrian facilities. The project will benefit existing bus and pedestrian users along the corridor as well as stimulating additional demand for these transport modes.

The project includes the following works: Installation of new drainage networks throughout the A647 works, relocation of existing services and installation of ductworks for new services as well as earthworks for highways works, retaining structures kerbing and paving works.
