The scheme involves the widening of approximately 2.5km of the A630 Sheffield parkway between the Catcliffe interchange and the M1 junction 33 from two lanes in each direction to three. Widening is also proposed on the northbound and southbound diverge slip roads from the M1 and modifications around the roundabout. Narrow lanes are proposed to minimise the impact on the adjacent land. New street lighting, carriageway surfaces and signs are set to be installed to improve safety for drivers. The scheme is designed to stay within the existing highway boundary. Drainage will be improved to create resilience to flooding in consultation with the Environment Agency and will include sympathetic landscaping with new trees and hedgerows where appropriate.

K Rouse Civil Engineers works include the removal of existing drainage and ducts and the installation of new drainage along with earthworks including the excavation and disposal of hazardous materials. Other works on this scheme included the formation of embankments, installation of gabions, kerbs and paved areas.
